Giroud thrives at San Siro but he’s yet to score away from home – the numbers
SempreMilan
Arriving in the summer on a permanent basis from Chelsea, Olivier Giroud decided to pick the No.9 shirt. Something that didn’t exactly go unnoticed, given AC Milan’s history with No.9s over the last few years.
So far, however, the Frenchman has done well for the Rossoneri. He has managed to find the back of the net six times and he has also assisted two goals. The latest goal came earlier this week with an absolutely stunning header against Genoa.
While it seems he has at least been able to dispel the No.9 concerns, he still has one thing to improve. In fact, he has scored all of his six goals at the San Siro, which isn’t a bad thing as such but Milan need him to perform away from home as well.
In addition to increasing his goal tally, that is the next target for Giroud and hopefully, he will be able to reach it. He has a contract with the club until 2023 and will thus remain for at least one more season after this term.
