La Liga outfit Girona have on Saturday closed an agreement for the signing of a highly-regarded up-and-coming talent.
The player in question? Gabriel Misehouy.
For those not familiar with his name, Misehouy is an 18-year-old attacker, who generally operates in a central attacking midfield role.
The Dutch youth international is also capable of lining out on the left flank, or even in a more orthodox engine room berth.
To this point in his fledgling career, Misehouy has spent his time developing on the books of Eredivisie heavyweights Ajax.
This summer, however, his long-term association with the capital club came to a close.
As much came after the two parties failed to reach an agreement on the terms of an extension to his expiring contract. Misehouy, as of this past Monday, therefore became a free agent.
And, as alluded to above, just days on, he has been snapped up, by one of Spanish football’s leading clubs.
As per a report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano:
‘Girona have agreed a deal to sign former Ajax talent Gabriel Misehouy after he left the club as a free agent.’
A verbal agreement is understood to have been struck, ahead of the talented attacker putting pen to paper on a contract in Catalunya at some point next week.
