The 23-year-old makes the step up to the elite game after most recently playing her football in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division.
Pursey was only with Gillingham for a short period and she made two appearances for the club in the third tier. The player will now be keen to challenge herself at a higher level with new club Lewes.
The forward was on the books at Brighton & Hove Albion in the early days of her career but she never made a senior appearance for The Seagulls. Pursey featured for the Sussex club at Under-17 level and in their Development Squad. The player then moved to the United States where she represented Indiana University–Purdue University (IUPUI) and Western Carolina University.
Pursey came back to the UK last year and she returned to the English game by joining Gillingham during the first half of this season.
Lewes were in need of another attacking player with The Rookettes being a little light in that area. Pursey will challenge the likes of Emily Kraft, Emma Thompson and Amber-Keegan Stobbs for the right to lead the front-line in the second half of the season.
