Gianluca Scamacca (23) remains PSG’s priority | OneFootball

According to Le Parisien, Italian forward Gianluca Scamacca remains PSG’s priority signing up-front as Reims striker Hugo Ekitike’s (20) false link with the club has been rebuffed this morning. The Parisian side were confident on boosting their frontline earlier this month, with a €35m offer being made to Serie A side Sassuolo.

Whilst it was below Sassuolo’s €50m valuation,  Paris Saint-Germain are still confident in concluding the deal and have highlighted the young forward as a priority for this transfer window. With the Neroverdi finishing 11th in Serie A last season, Scamacca has enjoyed a fine season with 16 goals in 36 Italian league games.

The young Italian forward was brought to the club’s attention by Luis Campos, with the intention to strengthen PSG’s attacking options as a replacement for the out-of-favour Mauro Icardi (29). This is especially important if the side is planning to play with a front two, which is a characteristic of incoming manager Christophe Galtier’s past formations.
