The powers that be at La Liga outfit Getafe have come to a definitive decision on the future of frontman Jaime Mata.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing Cadena Cope, who have confirmed that the 35-year-old is all set to move on in the summer.
Jaime, for his part, will see his contract terms with Getafe expire in just a couple of months’ time.
And, after careful deliberation, the brass at the Estadio Coliseum have concluded that the best route forward is not to offer the veteran goalscorer a renewal.
Jaime, for his part, has been on the books of Getafe since all the way back in the summer of 2018.
Across this time, he has gone on to rack up 172 appearances, giving rise to 37 goals.
The Spaniard recently secured for himself a special piece of history, too, in establishing himself as the joint-top scorer in Azulones colours in the history of La Liga.
The next four fixtures, though, will mark Jaime’s last in the Spanish capital, ahead of bringing an imminent close to the fine Getafe chapter of his career.
