Getafe & Atlético Madrid locked in ‘advanced’ transfer negotiations | OneFootball

The respective boards at La Liga clubs Atlético Madrid and Getafe are locked in advanced discussions over an impending transfer deal.

That’s according to Spanish football insider Matteo Moretto, who points towards Santiago Mouriño as the subject of the talks at hand.

Mouriño, for his part, is a 22-year-old central defender, who put pen to paper on terms with Atlético in the summer of 2023.

The Uruguayan was then quickly farmed out on loan, notching 28 appearances across a spell with Real Zaragoza.

And, if the latest word to have surfaced on Sunday is anything to go by, then Mouriño appears to be inching towards a 2nd successive stint away from the Wanda Metropolitano.

This comes amid confirmation of ongoing discussions between Atléti and La Liga rivals Getafe, over a deal for the stopper.

As per the aforementioned Matteo Moretto:

‘Getafe are in advanced negotiations for Santiago Mouriño, from Atlético de Madrid.’
