Germany have been crowned Under 17 World Cup winners after they beat France on penalties.
Scorers: Brunner (PEN) 29′, Darvich 51′; Bouabré 53′, Amougou 83′
It was all Germany in the opening exchanges as Max Moerstedt went close early on as his penalty box effort went agonisingly over the bar.
Borussia Dortmund sensation Paris Brunner had enjoyed a marquee tournament up to this point and was full of running down the left-hand side.
Brunner had a good effort saved on 22 minutes but just a few moments later, eventually did give the Mannschaft a lead.
Eric da Silva Moreira was fouled inside the area and after a lengthy VAR check, a spot kick was given by the referee.
Up stepped Brunner, who netted cooly for his fifth of this World Cup.
Into the second half and Germany doubled their lead on 51 minutes as Noah Darvic finished from a tight angle.
But France weren’t to be outdone as they immediately pulled one back through Saimon Bouabré’s brilliance in front of goal.
As the game entered its final quarter things got a little harder for the Germans as Winners Osawe was sent off for a second booking.
And Les Bleus made that man advantage pay as Mathis Amougou tapped in unmarked at the back post.
Despite some late French pressure, the 90 minutes ended all square and the game went straight to a penalty shoot-out.
Tidiam Gomis missed the crucial penalty for France as Almugera Kadar netted to win the trophy for Germany for the first ever time.
