As opposed to the difficult start for the U19 team, Germany eased their way into the knockout stages before the final group stage fixture in the U21 Euros. Following wins over Slovenia and the Czech Republic, the aim now would be to finish top of the group.

In particular, Nick Woltemade has been unstoppable, leading the scoring chart with four goals. The former Three Lions caretaker coach said they’re expecting a visit from Thomas Tuchel if they progress well in the competition. Thanks to their heavy goal difference advantage over Slovenia, England are well on course to follow Germany in the quarter-finals.

The events of the U19 Euros could also add an interesting element to this fixture. England U19 scored four goals in a space of 11 second-half minutes to deny Germany a five-star victory in a decisive group stage fixture.
