L’Équipe understands that AS Saint-Étienne are set to sign Girondins de Bordeaux forward Zuriko Davitashvili (23) in a deal reportedly worth €6m, including bonuses.

After securing a return to the top flight, Saint-Étienne are looking to bolster their squad this summer. ASSE have already brought in experience in the form of former Stade de Reims captain Yunis Abdelhamid (36), however, they are now set to add some youth to their side.

Davitashvili, capable of playing as a right-winger or as a No.10, is one of many Georgia players to have impressed during the ongoing Euro 2024 championships in Germany. He featured in all four of the nation’s games, including the Round of 16 loss to Spain.

Since the summer of 2022, he has been playing his club football with Ligue 2 side Bordeaux. Last season, he scored eight goals and registered nine assists in 39 games in all competitions. He has now earned a move to Ligue 1. Davitashvili is already in Saint-Étienne ahead of the completion of his €6m move. He will sign a four-year deal, with the option of a further year, with Les Verts.
