GdS: AC Milan and Inter reject possibility of buying San Siro | OneFootball

Earlier this week, the mayor of Milan, Beppe Sala, opened up to the possibility of selling San Siro to AC Milan and Inter (via ANSA). However, it seems to be a turning point of small importance.

According to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), the two clubs intend to move forward with their plans of building a new stadium, despite the mayor’s sudden offer to sell San Siro for a figure of around €70m.

The change of direction by the major, the report continues, is due to the risk of the Milan clubs deciding to build the new stadium elsewhere, specifically outside of the council’s boundaries (the Sesto San Giovanni area).

However, as mentioned, Inter and Milan are moving ahead with their initial plans, the report concludes. Meanwhile, the clubs have refused to make any official comments on the matter, already carrying out the next steps of their plans.
