“The performance was good. We struggled at the start; Pisa was organized and physical. They were always very dangerous in the air. We gradually emerged, though not with great consistency.”

“There was a great play from the defense on the goal, all three players up front played well: Paulo, Ferguson, and Soulé. We dominated the game, these teams are physically strong, so these plays are useful.”

“Kone? He undoubtedly has this ability to operate wide and centrally. It depends… Today Cristante was very central on that side, where he dropped later. He was a key player in many plays, where he managed to find space to free himself. And he’s a very effective ball carrier.”

“Dybala? Paulo can play anywhere, he can play in different positions and always knows what to do. I want to see Soulé create this variety, too…”

“The team’s attitude? It’s the most beautiful thing, it’s thanks to the group I inherited from Ranieri. He had created a strong mentality, playing with different concepts. I found a group that supported me extraordinarily from the start, and I’m grateful for that. Last year there was some disappointment about the Champions League, but the conditions are in place to have a determined, serious, and available group. This way we start strong.”
