LA Galaxy hosted Seattle Sounders on Friday night and the points were shared after a dramatic 3-3 draw.
Scorers: Hernandez 10â˛, VĂĄzquez 42â˛, JoveljiÄ 90+3â˛; Rowe 53â˛, RuidĂaz 61â˛, Morris 73â˛
Fans who tuned in to the action on the West coast were treated to a thriller as LA Galaxy and Seattle Sounders entertained in a tale of two halves.
The hosts were the first side to find their scoring touch with Javier Hernandez scoring against one of his favourite opponents for a third successive game following some close control skills in the box.
Then as the match went on, the Galaxy pressed for a second and a moment of magic from Victor VĂĄzquez made it seem like the hosts were in complete control.
However, coming out into the second half the match turned on its head as Seattle pushed back.
Raul RuidĂaz picked out Kelyn Rowe in the box and the midfielderâs clinical finish made things 2-1. The visitors then hit the woodwork twice before RuidĂaz eventually leveled the score with one of his own.
With roughly half an hour to go the match was still up for grabs for either side. New Galaxy signing Riqui Puig also made his debut off the bench.
Over time the second-half resurgence from the visitors continued and Jordan Morrisâ header made it look like Seattle would complete a stunning 3-2 comeback but we had more drama in store.
VAR awarded LA Galaxy a penalty at the death after a handball in the box and substitute Dejan JoveljiÄ smashed the ball home to save his side a point.
STONE. COLD. JOVELJIÄ. âÂ
The result means the Galaxy are sixth while the Sounders are seventh.
