Galatasaray are targeting moves for Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez and Lucas Digne, according to Foot Mercato.

The Turkish giants are in the market for proven international quality as they prepare for another title defence and a return to the Champions League.

Galatasaray have identified Martinez and Digne as key targets for a combined €27 million to strengthen their defensive options.

Martinez has established himself as one of Europe’s top goalkeepers over the last three years, having played a vital role in Argentina’s World Cup and Copa America triumphs.

He was sent off in Villa’s closing game of last season and could have played his final game for the club.

Despite his contract running until 2029, the 32-year-old has been linked with a move away from Villa Park this summer.

A move for Martinez will come with a lot of competition, with Manchester United and Saudi Pro League clubs among his potential suitors.

Digne has just one year left on his Villa contract and is a more attainable target. However, Galatasaray may have to compete with Atletico Madrid for the Frenchman.

Villa are reportedly in danger of breaching the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), and could be open to several departures this summer.

They hold an interest in Galatasaray’s Gabriel Sara, who is valued at around €20m, although it is unclear if the Super Lig champions will be willing to part ways with him.
