Arsenal defender Gabriel has been passed fit to start against Newcastle as Arsenal look to claim their first win in three Premier League games.
Mikel Arteta's side travel to Tyneside to take on the Magpies in the Premier League's early kick off, looking to close the gap on Manchester City and Liverpool above them in the Premier League.
To try and do so, the Gunners have named Thomas Partey at right-back, while Leandro Trossard is still preferred to exciting teenager Ethan Nwaneri in midfield and Bukayo Saka returns on the right flank. Meanwhile, Martin Odegaard, Riccardo Calafiori and Takehiro Tomiyasu all remain sidelined through injury.
Newcastle United have opted to leave Harvey Barnes and Sandro Tonali among the substitutes, with Joe Willock one again asked to start in attack against his former club.
Arsenal XI: Raya, Partey, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber, Rice, Merino, Saka, Trossard, Martinelli, Havertz
Newcastle XI: Pope, Livramento, Burn, Burn, Hall, Longstaff, Joelinton, Guimaraes, Gordon, Isak, Willock
