Everton’s Gabby George has been announced as Barclays WSL Player of the Month, while Aston Villa’s Carla Ward won Barclays Manager’s award for January.
George hit the ground running in 2023 and helped to secure back-to-back home wins for the club, as Everton rose to fifth in the table.
Aston Villa made a habit of quick-fire responses to conceding in January, with two goals within four minutes enough to defeat Tottenham, followed by a 1-1 draw with Manchester City ensuring Ward’s side remained undefeated at the start of 2023.
