Fulham FC are hijacking Everton’s deadline-day loan move for Lyon winger Ernest Nuamah (20), according to a report from Foot Mercato. The report understands that the Toffees were leading the race to sign the Ghana international over a season-long move from Les Gones. However, the 20-year-old is now thought to prefer the Cottagers’ offer.
Lyon, whilst still trying to secure incomings before the closure of the transfer window on Friday evening, are focused on outgoings. At the start of the summer, OL aimed at raising €100m in player sales. With just hours remaining in the window, they have not got close to that figure. Les Gones have reportedly set a €30m price tag for Nuamah.
It remains to be seen whether Lyon would agree to let Nuamah leave on loan to a club that is not Everton, considering OL owner John Textor is actively pursuing a takeover of the Liverpool-based Premier League club. Nuamah’s Lyon teammate Orel Mangala has already joined Sean Dyche’s Toffees for a season-long loan move.
