Fulham’s midfield could be on the verge of a shake-up, with Andreas Pereira now expected to leave Craven Cottage. According to TEAMtalk, “Silva’s relationship with the midfielder has become strained this year, and he has told club officials he will not block an exit.”
The 29-year-old has been a vital figure since joining Fulham in 2022, but his omission from the squad for the first two Premier League matches speaks volumes. Pereira was an unused substitute against Brighton and then completely left out against Manchester United, a club where he spent several years before moving to London.
This situation marks a clear change in Fulham’s stance on the Brazilian, who was previously considered untouchable when Palmeiras came knocking last season.

Pereira’s future now seems likely to be away from England. TEAMtalk reported, “Silva has been made aware of interest from three Brazilian sides, as well as some interest in Europe, but Palmeiras are leading the race and are expected to table a formal offer imminently.”
The midfielder is keen on returning to Brazil, where he previously thrived with Flamengo. With less than 12 months remaining on his Fulham contract, the club is eager to avoid losing him for nothing. TEAMtalk added that Fulham’s hierarchy are “growing increasingly frustrated by Pereira’s situation and want to find a solution, soon.”
Fulham’s motivation to sell is clear. Pereira’s contract situation and his reduced role under Marco Silva have opened the door for negotiations. Manchester United, who sold him for a fee worth up to £10m, inserted a 20 percent sell-on clause. Any profit Fulham make will see United benefit financially from the deal.
Since joining Fulham, Pereira has registered 10 goals and 22 assists in 119 appearances, making him a significant contributor over the past three years. However, the emergence of Josh King, who has stepped into a starting role, suggests Silva is already preparing for life without the Brazilian playmaker.

Losing Pereira mid-season could alter the balance in Fulham’s midfield. Silva has placed emphasis on dynamism and versatility, and with key fixtures approaching, replacing Pereira’s creativity will be crucial. The club’s willingness to sanction his departure now hints at confidence in current squad depth or plans for reinforcements before the window shuts.
As TEAMtalk outlined, “Concrete developments are expected very soon,” meaning Fulham fans might not have to wait long to learn if Pereira’s Craven Cottage chapter is coming to an end.
This feels like the end of an era for Pereira. He has been a central figure in Fulham’s rise since 2022, and many supporters will remember his energy and creativity fondly. However, his absence in the opening fixtures spoke volumes, and it now appears inevitable that he will leave.
Palmeiras is an appealing destination for Pereira, and few can begrudge him a return to Brazil at this stage of his career. For Fulham, the priority must be reinvesting any transfer income wisely. With less than a year left on his contract, cashing in now makes sense, particularly with United set to receive a share of the profit.
The worry for fans is whether the club can replace his creativity quickly. Josh King looks promising, but Pereira’s experience and vision will be difficult to replicate. Many will hope Silva has reinforcements lined up because losing Pereira without a suitable replacement could weaken the team during a crucial stretch of the season.
