There are some huge fixtures at both ends of the Premier League table this weekend as well as there being the FA Cup trophy up for grabs .
This is what lies in store.
There will be a slight sense of déjà vu this weekend as Chelsea and Liverpool lock horns at Wembley for a piece of silverware once again.
The Reds were successful when the sides met in February, lifting the EFL Cup after a pulsating penalty shootout, but over the three games between the two sides this season there have been no winners in normal time.
That should set us up for what promises to be a fascinating battle on Saturday, with Chelsea having revenge on the mind and Liverpool knowing their quest for the quadruple could turn into a paltry double in the space of a week.
Both teams will head into the final with injury concerns. Thomas Tuchel isn’t confident of Mateo Kovačić’s availability after he was on the receiving end of a horror tackle from Leeds’ Daniel James on Wednesday, while N’Golo Kanté has missed their last two fixtures.
Jürgen Klopp saw Fabinho limp off against Aston Villa on Tuesday meaning the tense midfield battle that has defined the previous fixtures will be missing its main protagnoists.
This one could go either way.
📊 Fun fact: This is only the second time that the same two sides have contested both the FA and EFL Cup finals in the same season, with the other occasion coming in 1992/93 between Arsenal and Sheffield Wednesday.
🔮 Our prediction: Chelsea 1-2 Liverpool (AET)
It appears Manchester City are steamrolling their way to retaining their Premier League crown following the 5-1 thrashing of Wolves in midweek.
Pep Guardiola’s side will need just a point from their final game of the season if they are victorious against the Hammers on Sunday but that might be easier said than done.
West Ham have European aspirations once again following their Europa League adventures this season and if they win their final two games there will qualify for the competition for next season.
Man City’s patched-up defence survived their first test at Molineux but there are now also fears over the fitness of Aymeric Laporte and Fernandinho.
Who will start at the back for City is anyone’s guess but what we do know is this will be their toughest test left on their way to a potential title.
📊 Fun fact: West Ham haven’t beaten City in their last 12 Premier League meetings, the last victory coming in a 2-1 win in September 2015.
🔮 Our prediction: West Ham 1-1 Manchester City
Spurs have given themselves a real chance of breaking into the top four after their win in the north London derby, and it will be a straight shootout between them and Arsenal for the final spot during the last two games.
Antonio Conte will know his team for sure can’t afford any slip-ups against Burnley and this is a game they really should be winning.
The Clarets are still fighting for their lives despite their recent good form, with the 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa last time out throwing them right back into trouble.
Mike Jackson, fresh off winning the Premier League Manager of the Month award, will set up a team desperate for the points but Spurs’ firepower should be too much for the visitors.
📊 Fun fact: Spurs are unbeaten in their last nine home league games against Burnley, winning by an aggregate score of 10-0.
🔮 Our prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 Burnley
With seven points from their last three games, Frank Lampard seems to have guided Everton to a relatively secure degree of comfort in the relegation dogfight.
Four points from their remaining three fixtures should be enough to keep the Toffees in the top flight but there are no guarantees with Brentford coming to town.
The Bees have won six out of their last nine games and have found a new dimension following the winter arrival of Christian Eriksen, who has provided three assists in his nine appearances for the club.
Brentford travel to Merseyside knowing they will be playing Premier League football next season, so the shackles will be off and if the result isn’t going Everton’s way after half-time, Goodison Park could become a very anxious place.
📊 Fun fact: Everton have lost six of their last nine home games against teams promoted to the top flight.
🔮 Our prediction: Everton 2-2 Brentford
The Belgian added to his recent goals against Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur with two assists and another strike against Manchester United last time out.
He comes up against a Leeds team that have conceded nine goals in their last three games this weekend, and you can be sure he will be licking his lips over the prospect of facing that defence.
