Interest in Kévin Denkey (23) has quickly mounted after the forward has lit the Belgian league on fire this season. The Togolese striker has scored 26 goals in 35 appearances across all competitions for Cercle Brugge; a form that looks set to earn him a well-compensated move in the summer.
With that in mind, interest in France has grown considerably with a whole host of teams all intrigued by Denkey’s profile. Recently, it was reported that Lille OSC and RC Lens had taken their interest a step further when they sent scouts across the border to monitor the Togo international closely.
However, according to Foot Mercato, another team’s scouts have been spotted watching Denkey in recent weeks. Bayer Leverkusen are thought to be keen to strengthen their attack in the summer and offer the chance for Denkey to train under Xabi Alonso.
Still, AS Monaco remain first in line for the player, considering that the club owns Cercle. They are thought to be readying an impressive offer to convince him that the move to the Principality is firmly in his interest.
As interest rises in the player so does his price, and a fee of €10 million set in February has already doubled ahead of the summer.
