Francis Coquelin to train with Nantes ahead of move | OneFootball

Francis Coquelin (33) almost joined FC Nantes on a free transfer in the summer before an injury scuppered the prospective move, however, the former Arsenal midfielder is now on the verge of completing the move to Les Canaris, L’Équipe understands.

Coquelin has been a free agent since the expiry of his contract with Villarreal at the end of last season. His efforts to find a new club in the summer were scuppered when he suffered an untimely muscular injury. At the time of the blow, he had been set to sign for Nantes, who subsequently sounded out alternative targets.

However, six months later, the move is finally set to be completed. Coquelin has now fully recovered and is set to train with Antoine Kombouaré’s side on Tuesday. Once his fitness is made clear to the medical staff at Nantes, it is expected that the midfielder will then sign a contract with the club.
