France U21 international Amine Adli (23) has opted to play for Morocco. The Bayer Leverkusen winger has received his first-ever call-up by Morocco national team manager Walid Regragui. So far, the France-born striker has represented Les Bleus at youth level. Adli was called up by former France U21 manager Sylvain Ripoll to play the U-21 European Championships this summer. According to L’Equipe, Adli was part of a two-man shortlist of dual nationals, alongside Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz, that the Moroccan FA wanted to convince to play for the Atlas Lions. The former Toulouse youth product has logged three goals in six games for Les Bleuets.

Morocco will host Liberia at Agadir on September 9th as part of their campaign for the 2024 AFCON. The 2022 World Cup semi-finalists will then face Burkina Faso three days later for a friendly at Lens’ Stade Bollaert. Stade de Reims’ Yunis Abdelhamid and Amir Richardson, PSG’s Achraf Hakimi, Saint-Etienne’s Benjamin Bouchouari, Rennes’ Ibrahim Salah, Toulouse’s Zakaria Aboukhlal and Marseille’s Amine Harit and Azzedine Ounahi are all part of the Morocco squad.
