Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has made a few notable changes to the starting eleven today against Lecce.

Nicolo Barella and Federico Dimarco have gotten a rest. Davide Frattesi and Carlos Augusto start in their place.

Then, in defense, Matteo Darmian starts on the right ahead of Benjamin Pavard.

This is an indication of the importance of Inzaghi using all of the players he has at his disposal. This is a particularly tricky period in the fixture list.

After today’s match, Inter face crunch matches against Monaco in the Champions League and AC Milan in Serie A. All of these come in the space of a week.

“But we have a big squad,” the 27-year-old made clear.

“And we can all play, as we’re doing.”

Of this evening’s match, Thuram noted that “Lecce are a team playing to avoid relegation.”

“It’s always tough to play away at grounds like this,” he added of playing at the Stadio Via del Mare.

“We have to take control of the match right away, and do things well.”

And Thuram gave his thoughts on how to navigate this tricky fixture list. He insisted that it should be “by playing football the way we’ve done since we were kids, and now we do in Serie A.”

“We need the same joy and the same desire.”
