France will be hoping to get back to winning ways after their pre-tournament preparations were stunted by Julian Nagelsmann’s resurgent Germany on Saturday night. Didier Deschamps’ team are preparing to face Chile on Tuesday evening.

According to L’Équipe, Deschamps could be set to make as many as 7 changes to his Les Bleus team that were defeated  2-0 by Germany. One of the most notable changes is set to arrive between the posts with Mike Maignan to return from injury and replace Lens keeper Brice Samba. Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté is also expected to make his return from injury and replace Benjamin Pavard. William Saliba or Dayot Upamecano are set to partner him in central defence for France.

Jonathan Clauss is expected to be the last change in defence, replacing Jules Kounde. Aurélien Tchouaméni is the only midfielder to keep his place with Youssouf Fofana and Eduardo Camavinga set to replace Adrien Rabiot and Warren Zaïre-Emery. Kolo-Muani should join Kylian Mbappé in attack with Olivier Giroud potentially set to replace Marcus Thuram.

France likely XI vs Chile:

Mike Maignan – Jonathan Clauss, Ibrahima Konaté, William Saliba or Dayot Upamecano, Théo Hernandez – Aurélian Tchouaméni, Eduardo Camavinga, Youssouf Fofana – Randal Kolo-Muani, Olivier Giroud or Marcus Thuram, Kylian Mbappé.
