He immediately carved himself a regular spot in Simone Inzaghi’s starting lineup and formed a rapid understanding with club captain Lautaro Martinez.

The 26-year-old has thus far contributed with 15 goals and 14 strikes in all competitions.

However, his most formidable strike was arguably the one against AC Milan in the first Derby della Madonnina of the season. That encounter ended in a 5-1 rooting in favor of the Nerazzurri.

Thuram’s wonderful shot went past his compatriot Mike Maignan and sailed in the top corner.

The France international was honored for his stupendous goal at the Gentleman Fair Play Award ceremony.

Thuram took the opportunity to talk about his maiden season at Appiano Gentile which has been a great experience thus far.

“I got on very well with the club and my teammates,” said the striker during the award ceremony via FcInterNews.

“I feel really good and I’m very happy with my campaign.”

Thuram’s Inter teammate Frattesi was also on stage, and the presenter asked him to comment on the Italian’s goals. This prompted a light-hearted response from the Frenchman.

“No, he doesn’t score goals like mine. Only tap-ins.” joked Thuram.

Although he isn’t a regular starter, Frattesi bagged eight goals this season across all competitions.

This includes last-gasp winners against Udinese, and more famously in the chaotic encounter against Hellas Verona.

The Italy international described that goal as his personal best moment of the season.
