Brentford have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.

Scout will be using their expertise to provide info, advice and Gameweek tips which may prove useful in ensuring you sit on top of your mini-leagues.

Best of the Bees

Following on from the impressive display at West Ham, a Friday night win and clean sheet in Leicester takes Brentford up to four successive away victories.

Mark Flekken (£4.4m) ensured the first few minutes were survived by making several saves but it wasn’t long until the Bees established a comfortable lead.

Mikkel Damsgaard (£5.1m) set up the first couple of strikes, with the second seeing Bryan Mbeumo (£8.0m) cut in from the right and curl his shot into the far corner. The Cameroon international has reached 15 league goals and we’re still in February.

Mbeumo had four attempts at King Power Stadium and his free-kick assisted Christian Nørgaard’s (£4.8m) header to secure a 14-point haul for his FPL managers. This was an especially nice reward for the 223,000 that captained him.

The Spotlight

Yoane Wissa (£6.4m) scored in Gameweek 26 when he reacted to Damsgaard’s mini-scoop from the edge of the penalty area. The forward returned eight points for his owners, many of who were disappointed not to see him credited with the assist for Fábio Carvalho’s (£4.5m) 89th-minute goal!

In his last seven matches, Wissa has had a huge 27 shots, of which 10 have been on target and 10 classified as big chances.

Wissa would make an excellent buy for FPL managers for the coming Gameweeks. In Blank Gameweek 29, when forwards like Alexander Isak (£9.5m), Ollie Watkins (£8.9m) and Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.4m) aren’t playing, Wissa faces the same Bournemouth defence he netted twice past in November.

Best of the Rest

Mbeumo was joined on 14 points by Mohamed Salah (£13.7m) and Brennan Johnson (£6.2m), with the only player to beat them being midfielder Marco Asensio (£6.0m). The Spaniard scored both Aston Villa’s goals against Chelsea.

Elsewhere, an Isak brace helped Newcastle beat Nottingham Forest in Sunday’s 4-3 thriller, while attacking full-back Daniel Muñoz (£4.9m) produced at both ends to reach four clean sheets and three attacking returns throughout his latest six appearances.

In Demand

FPL managers have a tight turnaround until Tuesday evening’s deadline, before a March when some teams only have one league match.

Matheus Cunha (£6.9m) has scored in three consecutive matches and is the Wolves talisman about to embark on a strong fixture run that includes a trip to Southampton in Blank Gameweek 29.

Mbeumo is currently the next most-bought, then it’s Jarrod Bowen (£7.3m) - fresh from bagging the winner at Arsenal.

Captaincy

Many will have circled Cole Palmer (£11.1m) to be this week’s captain, as he’s at home to last-placed Southampton. The penalty-taker was last season’s top FPL scorer and sits second right now - but he’s registered no goals and just one assist in five matches.

At the same time, it’s hard to ignore Salah when he’s on the verge of achieving the best-ever FPL season. Palmer had the most double-digit hauls (10) of 2023/24 but Salah already has 16 of them, with 12 from 15 away games.

In fact, his 182 points on the road are more than anyone else’s overall tally. The numbers are remarkable and he loves facing Wednesday opponents Newcastle.
