A number of worrying statistics have emerged after AC Milan were hammered 5-2 by Sassuolo at San Siro this afternoon to continue their dreadful run of form.

Firstly, OptaPaolo revealed that Milan have conceded at least four goals in two Serie A matches in a row for the first time in their history, and of course it would go on to get worse as Sassuolo scored a fifth goal.

That meant that Milan conceded at least five goals in a Serie A home match for the first time since 6 April 1997, when they were beaten 1-6 by Juventus in a game many consider to be the worst in the club’s history.

Milan have now lost three games in a row (across all competitions) for the first time since September 2019, when Marco Giampaolo was in charge. He was then sacked, and replaced by Pioli.

Finally, Sassuolo are the first team in the Serie A history to have 5 different goal scorers in a single top-flight away match against Milan.
