The Potters announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website this morning.
Nelson joins Stoke City after being released by Newcastle United following their promotion to the Barclays Women’s Championship at the end of last season.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed two spells with The Magpies. In her latest stint with Newcastle United, Nelson helped the club to achieve back-to-back promotions. The forward has been on a real journey with the Tynesiders with Nelson having to balance battling injury and illness with Newcastle United’s on-field success.
Nelson has been unable to play as much as she would have liked in the last couple of seasons but she will be hoping to enjoy a successful spell with Stoke City.
After adding Nelson to her squad, Stoke City head coach Marie Hourihan said “Erin is an accomplished forward who can play from the left or right.
“She has enjoyed great success with Newcastle, winning back-to-back promotions in the past two seasons.
“Erin is another great addition to the group who we are really looking forward to working with this season.”
Stoke City kick-off the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division season with a home fixture against promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon.
