Excelsior have completed the signing of Troy Parrott on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. The 21-year-old striker has joined the Eredivisie club in search of more regular first-team game time. Parrott has previously experienced loan spells in the Championship and League One with the likes of Millwall, Ipswich, MK Dons and Preston North End.

Last season, Troy Parrott scored four goals in 34 appearances for Preston, who finished the Championship campaign in 12th place. The 20-time Republic of Ireland international spent the season before on loan with MK Dons, where he scored nine goals in 43 League One appearances.

Parrott made his way through the ranks in Tottenham’s youth academy. Having made just four senior appearances for the North London club, he’s made a move abroad to play regular first-team football. At Excelsior, the Dublin-born striker will work under manager Marinus Dijkhuizen, who guided the club to Eredivisie safety last season. Now, the club will be hoping that Troy Parrott can help propel them up the league table. On Friday night, Excelsior face Fortuna Sittard at home as they look to continue their unbeaten start to the season.
