Former Feyenoord man Santiago Gimenez has recently spoken about making a name for himself at AC Milan. The Mexican joined in the winter window for over thirty million euros, yet his tenure at San Siro has not yet been a resounding success.
In his Italian career so far, Gimenez scored six goals and provided three assists in six months (19 matches). Although he couldn’t live up to the sky-high expectations, the striker continues to be self-assured when it comes to his own ability.
“I’m still the same Santiago, but with more hunger, more determination, and above all, more passion,” Gimenez told Sky Sport Italia.
“It’s difficult to move in the January transfer window because you’re in a completely new team. But now everything starts from scratch. I’m really determined and believe in myself and the team. We have to give everything to achieve our goals. I’m not making any promises, but I would love to win the Scudetto with Milan.”
Gimenez finds playing with Luka Modric an added motivation. The Croatian joined from Real Madrid and has already provided a significant boost. “Modric has won so many trophies, his presence will definitely motivate us. There’s a different atmosphere than in recent months.”
