There are players who would give anything, even all of their salary, in order to return to defend the colors of Club América.
Such is the case with José Daniel ‘Chepe’ Guerrero, who was under contract at América from 2014 to 2018 and now plays for second-division side Dorados.
Speaking with Rincón Águila, the 32-year-old knows that América would never bring him back but admitted he would play for free should the opportunity arise.
“I know it is impossible, but if there was a 1% chance they would talk to me and say, ‘There is no salary, but are you coming?’… I would immediately.”
He won two CONCACAF Champions League titles during his stay before leaving for Puebla and then emigrating to Sinaloa.
