Carlos Corberan has been told to stick with the West Brom project, even if he has offers from the Premier League this season.

The Spaniard has done an outstanding job at The Hawthorns since his appointment in October 2022, when he inherited a side that were in the relegation zone.

After quickly taking them up the table, Corberan’s first full season saw Albion reach the play-offs, and they’re in the hunt for promotion once more in the current campaign.

Carlos Corberan could have Premier League interest

Therefore, it’s perhaps no surprise his name is on the radar of clubs in the top-flight, with Leicester thought to have considered him as a target in the summer before opting for Steve Cooper.

More recently, Corberan’s name has been linked with Southampton should they sack Russell Martin, so it would be no surprise if offers do come his way at some point in the future.

But, when asked by FLW about what one message he would send to the boss, fan pundit Callum explained why he would persuade Corberan to stick around at West Brom, citing Kieran McKenna as the perfect example after he turned down opportunities elsewhere to remain at Portman Road.

It would be in the scenario that he is going to get some Premier League interest, which deservedly, he should be getting, is to try to ignore what someone like Enzo Maresca has done, and instead follow the Kieran McKenna path of sticking with a team that he hopes to get promoted with, rather than going for the interest elsewhere.

He should stick with this project, and see how far that can go. Shilen Patel is really aligned with Corberan, so let’s see how far both can take the club.

If Corberan wanted to leave it would be really disappointing for the supporters and the ownership, as in the last few years he has been our biggest asset. So, the message would be to avoid rival and Premier League interest from elsewhere, so stay committed to Albion, and to see how far he can take us.”

Carlos Corberan will be focused on West Brom

Corberan’s work at West Brom is going to attract attention, because he has done a superb job on a very limited budget for the most part.

As well as getting results, he has made Albion a decent watch, and the overall defensive structure of the side is very impressive, so you can see that they are well-drilled and coached in a specific way.

So, clubs will be looking, but there’s no indication that Corberan wants to move, and he is certainly not the type to allow any distractions to creep in.

He will be aware he’s onto a good thing with West Brom, particularly after Patel’s arrival, so it will need to be a very enticing offer to tempt him away, and you would imagine his only focus is on reaching the Premier League with Albion, which will allow him to fulfil his ambition of managing against the elite.
