Manchester City attacker Phil Foden has reiterated his desire to keep getting his name on the scoresheet after netting in the 1-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Englishman found the bottom corner one minute before half-time, latching onto Kevin de Bruyne's pass and expertly directing the ball beyond the sprawling Robert Sanchez. The 20-year-old was ever-dangerous from the left flank, combining well with De Bruyne on multiple occasions to try to unlock the rigid and organised Brighton defence. The goal sees Foden top the scoring charts for City in all competitions this season and the youngster admitted that he loves the feeling of finding the net."I don't score too many right-footed so when they come along, I enjoy them and it’s always nice," he said. "It was a good goal. I always like being in the box. I want to keep scoring goals and I’m enjoying it at the moment."The victory extends Manchester City's unbeaten run in all competitions to 14 matches and also preserves our 100% Premier League record against the Seagulls, winning all seven meetings and Foden feels the team are finding their feet at the perfect time."It definitely feels like we’re back to our best. We’re definitely taking confidence from these last couple of performances. "We dug deep to get the win. Overall I’m very proud of the team and how we kept going until the final whistle and it’s a great result."They defended well and they had a good game plan, they made it difficult for us to break them down, but to get the goal before half time was so important and for me to score the winner, I’m delighted."It's a quick turnaround for Pep Guardiola's side, who are back in top-flight action this Sunday and the youngster stressed the importance of remaining grounded despite the great results."We know we have a game in hand now and we have to think of the next opponent, and not look too far ahead. "We want to keep this form and we want to keep pushing to try to win the league hopefully."
