Manchester City entertained Huddersfield Town at the Etihad Stadium earlier today as they hoped to earn a good result in the FA Cup. Pep Guardiola‘s men made a dominant start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 33rd minute via Phil Foden’s goal. Julian Alvarez doubled Man City’s advantage just four minutes later as the home side went into the half-time 2-0 up on the scoreline.

Ben Johnson scored an unfortunate own goal for the visitors in the 58th minute before Foden got his name on the scoresheet again in the 65th minute. Jeremy Doku grabbed another goal for Guardiola’s team just nine minutes later as Man City cruised to an impressive 5-0 victory at the Etihad.

He made a couple of solid saves at the back and earned an important clean sheet at home.

RB: Manuel Akanji – 6/10

Akanji began the game well but had to be replaced in the 17th minute.

CB: Ruben Dias – 7.5/10

The Portuguese talent gave a good account of himself when defending inside his half and was a threat at the other end of the field.

CB: Josko Gvardiol – 7/10

Gvardiol kept things solid at the back for most of the game and would be quite pleased with the clean sheet.

LB: Sergio Gomez – 7/10

The Spaniard was a positive influence at both ends of the field.

CM: Rico Lewis – 7.5/10

He managed to create a few decent chances for his teammates in the final third and ended the game with an assist to his name.

CM: Mateo Kovacic – 8/10

Kovacic anchored the midfield well and made two inviting chances for others around him. He has got an assist to show for his efforts.

RW: Oscar Bobb – 7/10

He had a couple of bright moments in the game but failed to register a goal.

CAM: Phil Foden – 9/10

Foden was a constant menace in the Huddersfield half and managed to score in both halves.

LW: Jack Grealish – 6.5/10

He was bright and creative but failed to threaten the opponent’s goal.

Alvarez caused a lot of headaches for the Huddersfield defenders and has got a goal and an assist to show for his efforts.
