Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez is ready to address the club’s failed move for Kylian Mbappé back in 2022, during his upcoming presentation.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has on Sunday provided an insight into the situation.

Frontman Mbappé’s unveiling as a Real Madrid player is of course now considered as imminent.

This comes after the Frenchman this week at long last made official his summer departure from Paris Saint-Germain, in a lengthy video message across his social media platforms.

A pre-contract agreement is understood to be in place between Mbappé and La Liga champions Real, who have been locked in negotiations for several months now.

The plan, in turn, is for the 25-year-old to be presented to the Blancos fanbase in the aftermath of next month’s Champions League final.

And, as alluded to above, as part of as much, Florentino Pérez intends to address the long-standing elephant in the room.

This comes in the form of Real’s failed pursuit of Mbappé two years ago.

Back in the summer of 2022, it was of course viewed as a formality that the PSG talisman was set to link up with Los Merengues.

At the very last minute, however, with an agreement already in place, Mbappé pulled the rug out from under Real, instead opting to extend his contract in Paris through this coming summer.

Such actions left many of a Real persuasion resentful of their side’s incoming frontman, adamant that he should not have been afforded a 2nd chance.

And, for precisely this reason, Florentino Pérez intends to speak out on exactly what transpired between the parties at this point.

That’s according to the aforementioned Fabrizio Romano, who, speaking on the latest edition of ‘The Here We Go podcast‘, revealed that Real Madrid’s president is ready to do his part in ensuring that Mbappé’s integration process goes as smoothly as possible.
