Florentino Perez: 'Nobody doubts' Karim Benzema will win the Ballon d'Or | OneFootball

Florentino Perez says nobody has any doubts over the fact that Karim Benzema will win this year's Ballon d'Or.

Benzema is the favourite to win the prestigious award thanks to the immensely impressive form he has been in at Real Madrid for the past year.

His performances have already earned him the UEFA Player of the Year award, and Perez is certain the Frenchman will follow that up with a maiden Ballon d'Or.

“Benzema has already received the UEFA Player of the Year award and in the next few days, he will be awarded the Ballon d’Or. Nobody doubts it," the president told Mundo Deportivo.

Last season couldn't have gone much better for with the club comfortably winning the league and beating Liverpool in the Champions League final.

Many in the club's squad have now won both of those trophies multiple times, but Perez says they won't get complacent.

“In sporting terms, last season we experienced memorable matches, which reflected Madrid’s DNA, that fight until the end. We beat PSG, Chelsea and Manchester City. I would also like to congratulate for their great performance," he added.

"I would also like to thank our players, legends and some of them, who have already won five Champions League titles.

“We have a squad to keep dreaming about all the challenges that lie ahead. Real Madrid does not allow complacency or relaxation. After winning the European Super Cup, we have won all the matches we have played, being the only club in the top five leagues to have achieved this. This is the way forward.”
