The transfer market is entering its final stretch and, as usually happens at this time, rumours are flying. In the case of FC Barcelona, the chapter of signings is closed, but some late departures are possible.

Fermin Lopez’s name has been heavily linked with an exit over the past week, but Hansi Flick, during his press conference earlier today, expressed confidence that the youngster will stay.

Another player finding himself on the radars of a big European club is Andreas Christensen, with AC Milan showing an interest in the Barcelona defender.

However, according to Fichajes, Flick does not want Barcelona to part ways with Christensen at this stage of the transfer window.

Milan are looking to strengthen their defence ahead of a demanding season and see the 29-year-old centre-back as a good fit for their plans, as they want an experienced and reliable footballer.

Christensen’s contract with Barça runs until June 2026, and a renewal has not been negotiated yet. So, there is a big risk of the club losing him for free next summer.

However, Inigo Martinez’s recent departure to Saudi Arabia has created doubts within the sporting department. Losing another centre-back could leave Flick with fewer options.

As such, the German coach has already made his stance clear: he does not want his defence dismantled.

Christensen, aware of the rumours, has made it clear that his priority is to continue wearing the Blaugrana colours.

Even so, he does not rule out new experiences, especially in Spain or Italy. What does seem to be ruled out is a return to the Premier League, where he already spent a long spell with Chelsea.

As things stand, Flick considers Christensen a necessary part of his squad and the player himself prefers to stay.
