Despite some frustrations, the summer window is progressing well for FC Barcelona, with the club making a few key signings, parting ways with some unwanted players and securing strategic renewals.
Lamine Yamal was the latest among several players to pen a new contract with the Blaugrana, but will not be the last as Deco & Co. will continue focusing on other renewals.
Frenkie de Jong, for one, appears set to pen a new contract as soon as his agent situation is resolved. Eric Garcia could be the next, reports SPORT.
As per the report, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick considers Eric Garcia ‘non-transferable’. The German manager himself requested the versatile defender’s renewal, which could be completed soon.

The centre-back from Martorell has one year left on his current deal and is awaiting a new contract to be agreed soon.
After spending the 2023-24 season on loan at Girona, he became an important player for Flick last season. While his departure was considered both in summer and winter, the German manager dismissed the idea.
Garcia’s versatility earned him many minutes, with the former Manchester City ace proving to be a valuable asset, not only as a central defender but also as a defensive midfielder and right-back.
Given his age, versatility, and tactical understanding, Flick sees him as an untouchable in the squad, and his contract renewal could be finalised in the coming weeks, once Barcelona are back to the 1:1 rule.
