Flavien Tait (30) is set to depart Stade Rennais on a free transfer and sign a three-year deal at Turkish side Samsunspor, according to L’Équipe.
Tait joined Rennes for €9m from SCO Angers back in 2019 and has gone on to make 129 appearances for the Breton club. However, with just a year remaining on his contract, he no longer featured in Rennes’ plans. He is yet to feature for Rennes this season, and he was not included in the squad for the club’s most recent match against Stade Brestois, which finished in a 0-0 draw.
He is now set to leave the club, according to L’Équipe. Rennes will not receive a fee for the French midfielder but have secured a sell-on percentage. The 30-year-old will sign a three-year deal with Samsunspor, who currently sit 18th in the Turkish top flight, with a game in hand. The transfer window in Turkey remains open until 15th September.
