The alarm bells are officially sounding after Flamengo fell 3-0 to newly-promoted Atlético Goianiense, marking Domènec Torrent’s second-straight loss to begin his stint in charge of the defending Copa Libertadores and Brasileirão champions.

Despite putting out Flamengo’s strongest XI, Hyuri and Jorginho each bagged first-half goals, while Gustavo Ferrareis completed the rout just after the hour-mark.

To make matters worse, Diego Alves was sent off in the 83rd-minute for shoving his hand in the face of striker Matheus Vargas following a collision.

Alves will likely face a lengthy suspension, meaning César will fill in for a minimum of the next three league games.

For now, Flamengo are dead-last in the standings after two games. They will look to rebound away at fellow newly-promoted side Coritiba on Saturday.
