Flamengo have confirmed the departure of manager Vítor Pereira on Tuesday.

The decision arrived only four months after the 54-year-old was appointed, with the club losing Fluminense in the Carioca final acting as the last straw.

“Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that coach Vítor Pereira and his coaching staff are no longer in charge of the professional squad,” read the club’s statement.

“The management thanks the professional and wishes him luck in his career continuity.”

Pereira managed 20 games for Flamengo during his spell, 50% of which he failed to win (lost eight and drew two), including the Super Copa do Brasil final.
