Flamengo are understood to be interested in bringing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Rafinha to the Maracanã.
Reports from France claim that the Parisiens are looking to offload the former Barcelona man.
And with Gerson having left for Marseille, the Rubro-Negro are in the market to boost their options in the engine room.
Despite agreeing a €20m fee for Gerson, Flamengo are against the idea of securing Rafinha on a permanent contract.
According to Rio-based journalist Mauro Sant Anna (via 90min), the defending Brasileirão champions would prefer the 28-year-old to come on loan.
Sant Anna claims that Fla are prepared to cover €130,000 a week in terms of salary, but would expect PSG to pick up any excess pay beyond that.
The journalist also reported that Flamengo would have moved for the twice-capped Brazil international last summer had it not been for the financial precarity caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rafinha – a younger brother of Liverpool’s Thiago Alcântara – is a product of Barça’s famed La Masia academy.
