Flamengo overcame a myriad of absences on Wednesday as they earned a 3-1 victory over Juventude.
Scorers:Ā Kenedy 12ā², Pedro 26ā², Andreas 35ā²; William Matheus 57ā²
Both of Flamengoās big-name loan signings came through in a big way as both Kenedy and Andreas marked their account in the first half on either side of Pedroās 26th-minute strike.
Kenedyās first goal in a red and black shirt came just 12 minutes into the contest as he and Pedro combined on a spectacular piece of interplay that the Chelsea midfielder finished off in some style.
Pedro would score a goal of his own 14 minutes later, tapping home a well-guided cross from Michael into the empty net.
Andreas Pereira would give Flamengo a three-goal lead with an incredible free-kick from long range that went in off the bottom of the crossbar in the top corner, sending the MaracanĆ£ into a frenzy.
William Matheus would prevent Diego Alves from claiming a clean sheet in the 57th minute but it wasnāt enough as Flamengo claimed their 14th win of the BrasileirĆ£o campaign.
Flamengo nearly cut their deficit to eight points but AtlƩtico Mineiro stormed back with three late goals to overcome Santos 3-1.
