Di Marzio reports that Leicester City’s latest offer for Fiorentina’s, Nico Gonzalez, has been rejected. Leicester have had two bids rejected for the 24-year-old winger with the initial bid believed to be worth £30M.
The general manager of Fiorentina, Joe Barone, insisted before the match against Roma that their record signing was not for sale but Leicester returned yesterday with a final offer to tempt the Italian club.
The Premier League strugglers will now focus on other targets as Brendan Rodgers seeks a right-sided winger in order to boost their survival hopes. Leicester are currently 15th in the league just two points above the relegation zone and are without their star player, James Maddison.
The foxes have hit an injury crisis meaning their need for a January arrival is urgent. They face high-flying Brighton this weekend at the King Power Stadium and their hope for a new signing in time for this crucial game looks slim.
