Saturday’s reports indicate that Fiorentina will not purchase Nicolo Zaniolo outright from Galatasaray at the end of his loan spell, but the Viola are still considering bringing the former Roma-man back on board for the 2025-26 campaign.
Zaniolo originally joined Atalanta on loan from Galatasaray at the beginning of the 2024-25 season, but that was interrupted midway through the campaign in order for him to join Fiorentina on loan instead.
La Viola have an obligation to buy the player outright under certain conditions, but those are unlikely to be met before the end of the current campaign.
According to reports from Corriere dello Sport (via TMW), Fiorentina will be obliged to buy Zaniolo for a fee of around €15m plus €2m in bonuses to sign Zaniolo permanently if he plays in 60% of the team’s matches before the end of the season. AS things stand, he has only started in three out of the nine league matches since he joined La Viola.

However, according to Saturday’s reports, Fiorentina are still keen on the idea of bringing Zaniolo back for the 2025-26 campaign.
There is a possibility that Fiorentina look to renegotiate a new, season-long loan deal with Galatasaray.
