Harder’s 66th goal for the Danes took her beyond Merete Pedersen, who had been top scorer across the men’s and women’s national  teams.

Signe Bruun scored twice and the rest of the goals in the Group E game were shared among Everton duo Nicoline Sorenesen and Rikke Sevecke, plus Sanne Troelsgaard, Sara Andersen and Stina Larsen.

Elsewhere in the opening #FIFAWWC2023 qualifiers, there were two 1-1 draws but also two double-figure victories.

Turkey took the lead at home to Portugal through Yağmur Uraz but Jessica Silva replied before the hour mark to earn a point in Group H.

Albania went ahead from the spot before half-time but visitors Kosovo hit back to tie the Group F game.

In the same group, Norway thrashed Armenia 10-0 with the help of hat-tricks by Caroline Graham Hansen and Lisa-Marie Utland.

Spain matched that score in Group B away to the Faroe Islands, Imanol Sarriegi Isasa leading the way with a four-goal haul.
