Liverpool are reportedly set to demand a fee in excess of €10m for Serbian international defensive midfielder Marko Grujic this summer.

According to A Bola, as transcribed by Sport Witness, Liverpool are set to discuss Grujic’s future in the summer and will only allow him to leave if they receive an offer of over €10m.

The report does not state whether or not Porto, the club he is currently on loan to, are interested in signing him permanently.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Grujic only recently turned 25 (this month) and still has two years left on his contract at Liverpool, so it would be incredibly strange if the club were willing to sell him for less than €10m (£8.5m). Transfermarkt value Grujic at £12.6m, which is just over £4m more than the report suggests is the minimum Liverpool would part ways with him for.

This shows that Liverpool are right to reject all transfer offers below that £8.5m mark, although the report does not state how much the club are looking for exactly or the clubs potentially interested in him. It is hard to make a prediction about what kind of fee Grujic could command this summer as it is entirely subjective and, in the end, down to Liverpool’s chiefs to decide.

If Liverpool decide that they want to sell Grujic this summer, it could be interesting to see how much they value him at and who will want him. Maybe a newly-promoted Premier League team could show interest in him and Liverpool could be tempted into loaning him out, as he still has two years to run on his contract and they do not need to sell him immediately.
