Arsenal will hope to take another step towards securing a place in the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finals when they take on Juventus at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The Gunners are two points clear at the top of Group C and victory over Juventus will put them in a strong position to quality for the last-eight.

Ahead of the match, FAWSL Full-Time have taken a look at the match facts provided by UEFA. Here are three key points to note ahead of Arsenal’s latest European fixture.

Defeating Juventus won’t be easy

Juventus arrive in North London having lost just two of their last 19 European matches (W12 D5). It should be noted that one of those two losses came against English opposition with Juve going down 2-1 at home to Chelsea in October 2021. Juventus drew their only previous European tie in England with Joe Montemurro’s side battling out a stalemate with Chelsea at Kingsmeadow this time last year.

Arsenal score plenty of goals in Europe

Arsenal have scored three or more goals in five of their last eight group stage fixtures. The Gunners have netted nine goals in this season’s group stage, an average of three goals per game, however, Juventus are the one team to have stopped Arsenal from scoring three or more. Beth Mead, Lina Hurtig and Caitlin Foord have all netted twice in the group stage but only the latter will be fit to feature in Arsenal’s latest meeting with Juventus.

Juventus are in good form on their travels

Juventus are unbeaten in their last seven UEFA Women’s Champions League matches (W3 D4) and they are in great form on their travels. Their last defeat outside of Italy came against last season’s European champions Lyon back in March. Juve’s previous European away defeat was way back in the 2019/2020 season when they were beaten 2-1 by FC Barcelona.
