FC Köln appoint Timo Schultz as new head coach

FC Köln have confirmed the appointment of Timo Schultz as their new head coach.

The 46-year-old, who last managed FC Basel, replaces Steffen Baumgart, who left the club prior to the winter break.

Köln find themselves mired in relegation trouble, currently sitting in 17th place and only off bottom spot in the Bundesliga on goal difference.

The club also also recently received a transfer ban, being unable to sign players both in the current January window and next summer.

Schultz’s first game in charge of Köln will take place on January 13 against Heidenheim.
