Faouzi Benzarti is no longer the head coach of Union Sportive Monastirienne for the 2024-2025 season.
In charge since February, the 75-year-old tactician reportedly disagreed with the club’s recruitment strategy, according to information from Mosaïque FM radio.
This situation pushed him to step down from his position at the helm of the club’s technical staff. Despite this, he managed to secure second place in the Tunisian Ligue Pro 1, earning the team a spot in the next edition of the CAF Champions League.
The former Carthage Eagles boss voiced his dissatisfaction to the club’s management over not being consulted regarding the recruitment of certain players.
For the record, USMO has officially announced the arrival of eight new signings: Aziz Abid (forward), Nassim Douihech (midfielder), Seif Saber (left winger), Ayoub Chaabane (left winger), Alpha Cidibe (Ivorian midfielder), Dhia Maatougui (defender), Cherif Boudiene (midfielder), and Brahim Souissi (forward).
The dean of Tunisian coaches could make a comeback at Moroccan club Al Wydad, who are eager to reclaim their former glory after a nightmarish 2024-2025 season.
