Fans allowed to return to stadiums in England | OneFootball

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced that fans will be allowed to return to football stadiums in England when the national lockdown ends on December 2.

The Telegraph have reported that a maximum of 4,000 fans spectators will be allowed to attend outdoor events in the lowest-risk areas under the new COVID-19 restrictions in the country.

The policy of the return of fans to stadiums will be adopted via a tiered-approach.

No fans will be allowed in to stadiums located within the highest-risk areas, which will be classified as Tier 3, while around 2,000 spectators are expected to be permitted in areas that fall under Tier 2.

Johnson confirmed that the announcement on what regions will fall into which specific tiers will be made later this week.

The last Premier League match to hold fans in England was at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium on March 9, when the Foxes beat Aston Villa 4-0.
